Works on the road Vrulja – Mijakovići in full swing; Zejak: One phase complete, machines are transferred to bridge number 2

After the completion of the works, a significant improvement in traffic connections between Pljevlja and cities in the north is expected

On the section of the Vrulja – Mijakovići road, the most demanding phase of the work began on September 10 – the installation of prestressed girders on bridge number 1, which has four spans and is 126 meters long. The company Bemax, which is the contractor, announced today that that phase has been completed, and that the machines are already being transferred to bridge number 2.

Bemax’s coordinator for engineering structures, Nikola Zejak, points out that the works are proceeding according to the previously announced work plan, and that in the previous seven days, prestressed girders were being installed on bridge number 1.

“Bridge No. 1 is 126 meters long and this phase has been completed today. In parallel with the installation of girders on the prepared spans, the preparation of formwork and the reinforcement of transverse beams above the column positions, as well as the installation of formwork for cantilever overhangs and edge cornices, is being done,” Zejak emphasized.

He said that today the machines are being transferred to bridge 2, which is 156 meters long and will have five fields.

“And all of these mentioned phases are waiting for us in the next seven days on bridge number 2. So the goal is to have all major reinforced concrete works on both bridge structures completed by the end of September,” said Zejak.

As a reminder, the section Vrulje – Mijakovići is seven and a half kilometers long and connects the regional road Sljepač most – Trlica with the highway Pljevlja – Đurđevića Tara.

After the completion of the works, a significant improvement in traffic connections between Pljevlja and cities in the north is expected, and the contractor announces that the work will be completed by the end of October.
