The ski resort in Kolašin is getting a five-story garage
Ski center Kolašin 1450 will get a garage with five floors at the end of the year, which is also the first of its kind in this part of Montenegro. The new facility will provide hundreds of parking spaces and solve the perennial problem of crowding, reports Television E.
The contractor is Bemax, and the responsible engineer of that company, Noki Popović, says that the garage will have over 600 parking spaces.
„”After the completion of the phase, 626 parking spaces for cars and eight parking spaces for buses have been provided. The garage has five floors that follow the configuration of the existing terrain in a cascade, which makes the building fit into the natural environment. Everything is reinforced concrete, there are slabs, capital columns and so on to the roof,” Popović points out.
So far, 80 percent of the works have been completed, and more than 60 workers are on the field every day.
“Elevator installation, ceramic and painting works are in progress. Thermotechnical installations, electrical and electrical works are active on the building all the time. As for mechanization, at the start we used cranes to do the rough construction of the building. Now we use smaller machines that we use to transport materials and equipment inside the garage, these are small dumpers and a truck crane,” said Popović.
The Municipality of Kolašin believes that the new garage will bring numerous benefits for both guests and Kolašin.
“Last year, during the winter season, there were tourists who could not get to the ski resort because we had traffic jams on that road. This year, we already see that, with the support of the Ministry of Public Works and their engagement, and by the contractor, the work has been intensified. The work on the parking garage is nearing completion, and we believe that the work could be finished for this season,” Vasilije Ivanović, vice president of the Municipality of Kolašin, told TV E.
In addition to the garage in Kolašin, the construction of a gondola that will connect the city center with the ski resorts is planned, followed by the reconstruction and adaptation of the roads. The goal, the municipality says, is for Kolašin to become a tourist destination that lives throughout the year.
“We think that no one in the region will be able to match our offer, because we will have content that can cover 365 days a year. We are also in the process of solving the traffic problems that were also in the focus of attention in the previous two years. Certain projects are already nearing the end or in the implementation phase, so when we put everything together, we will have Kolašin as a representative winter and summer tourist center in the future,” Ivanović says.
While waiting for the realization of new projects, the garage will already provide more comfort to visitors to Kolašin this season.
